FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Seeking therapy for the first time can be a little overwhelming. My goal is to collaborate with you to gain greater insight and self awareness.  Therapy and coaching can help develop direction, improve decision making, see beyond the barriers and obstacles that alone is sometimes hard to assess. I can offer a fresh perspective and guide you to create strategies that will move your life in a direction that is fulfilling and inspiring.

Teletherapy: All Sessions Are Conducted Online

I have found that the ease of being able to remain in the comfort of your home or at your office has cut down on travel time and made it much easier to juggle busy schedules for my clients. It also cuts out the  waiting room experience. Once we have had our first consult by phone or by email, we can set up a time day or evening that works best for you. I will send you a zoom link by email to enter the session.

Do you take insurance?
How do I pay?

I do not take any insurance, however, many of my clients submit directly to their insurance companies for 'out-of-network' reimbursement. I will provide you with a medical receipt for you to do so. Payments are expected at time of service. You are welcome to pay by credit card, debit or HSA, or Zelle.

Do you have same day or evening appointments?

I have for almost 30 years provided concierge like services by providing responses within 24 hours and setting up appointments the someday or within 24 to 48 hours. Early evening appointment are available. I also offer extended sessions or intensives for those wanting to work to resolve issues without feeling hurried.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, I set up and hold the 60 minute session specifically for you. As I understand that therapy can be a life line for many people. I ask for a 24 hour or more cancellation window so that I may offer the time to someone else in a timely fashion.

How long does therapy last?

I offer 60 or 90 minute sessions. Two hour sessions are often requested for couples, family mediations or interventions.

In regards to length of the process, it depends on your need. If you are looking for consultation and help with decision making, the process can be brief, solution focused, where we meet once a month. If you are struggling with trauma, loss, anxiety, or anger weekly sessions are recommended.

There are many clients that resolve issues from the past and want to be engaged in coaching going forward. This is a model I have used with many young adults that are preparing for college or adjusting to the work world, or for those going through a life transition like retirement.
